Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Driver to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to efficiently manage inventory and support warehouse operations. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to safety, and the ability to perform heavy lifting tasks. The Forklift Driver plays a crucial part in maintaining smooth warehouse distribution processes and ensuring accurate order picking.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to move, load, and unload materials within the warehouse
- Assist with inventory management by accurately picking and placing products using warehouse management systems
- Perform order picking tasks efficiently to fulfill customer or internal orders
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklift equipment to ensure safety and operational readiness
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with forklifts or related equipment
- Handle heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety guidelines related to warehouse distribution and forklift operation
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers
- Mechanical knowledge or background is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
- Basic math skills for inventory counting and order accuracy
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for order picking and inventory control
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution is a plus
- Strong attention to safety procedures and regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with physical stamina for long periods of standing or heavy lifting
- Valid forklift certification/license is required or must be obtained upon hire
Pay: Up to $24.45 per hour
