Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fabricator/Fitter for a permanent position within our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, fitting, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, welding techniques, and blueprint reading to ensure high-quality production standards. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where craftsmanship and safety are prioritized.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements
- Operate various hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (MIG, TIG, welding), plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication machinery
- Perform cutting, shaping, and assembly of ductwork, structural components, and metal parts using machining techniques and fabrication tools
- Conduct rigging operations to lift and position heavy materials safely using cranes or forklifts
- Measure materials accurately with calipers and other measuring devices; perform basic math calculations for precise fabrication
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and quality specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment as needed
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and troubleshoot fabrication issues efficiently
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing or construction environments as a fabricator or fitter
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly, machining, ductwork, and schematics interpretation
- Familiarity with crane operation, forklift handling, plasma cutting, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, and basic math skills
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and follow detailed schematics
- Knowledge of rigging procedures for lifting heavy components safely
- Experience working with schematics related to mechanical or structural projects is preferred
- Prior exposure to welding standards, safety protocols, and manufacturing best practices is highly desirable
Pay: $33.00-$35.00 per hour
