Hours: Standard site hours 7:00 AM – 3:15 PM Monday–Friday. Overtime paid after 8 hours/day (no banked hours).
About us
We’re a long-standing commercial mechanical contractor (25+ years) working on new commercial & multi-residential projects. Non-union, stable long projects, promote from within. We run an in-house training/mentorship program (Hoover School) and support apprenticeship schooling.
Role summary
Hiring experienced 1st to 4th year sheet metal apprentices and certified journeypersons to work on commercial HVAC and refrigeration installations across Edmonton. You’ll be on job sites fabricating/installing ductwork, rooftop units, condensers/evaporators and associated piping, and supporting commissioning when qualified. (This role is installation-focused with some fabrication on site.)
What you’ll do
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and layout sketches.
- Install and fabricate sheet metal ductwork, VAV boxes, RTUs, rooftop curb work and related equipment.
- Lift and position equipment (regular 25 kg+ lifts), work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Assist with refrigerant charging/leak checks & commissioning when certified.
- Coordinate with foremen, other trades and suppliers to meet schedule and quality targets.
- Mentor junior apprentices (for journeyperson hires).
What we expect (minimums)
- 1st to 4th year sheet metal apprentice or Journeyperson (Alberta apprenticeship in progress or completed required).
- Experience on Canadian work sites.
- Safe, reliable, punctual — able to reliably commute to Edmonton sites.
- Own basic set of hand tools. Comfortable working at heights and in tight spaces.
- English for safe on-site communication.
Assets (not required but helpful): WHMIS, CSTS, Fall Protection, First Aid, Confined Space, Scissor/Boom lift, Telehandler, Refrigerant handling ticket, sheet metal journeyperson certificate.
Schedule & pay practice
- Standard site hours with overtime after 8 hours/day; no hour bank. Travel to multiple Edmonton sites possible.
