Your Mission:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Instrumentation & Controls Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems within composting and anaerobic digestion operations. You will play a key role in ensuring system performance, reliability, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Here’s what an ordinary day of work might look like:
- Inspecting, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing control systems and monitoring devices to ensure optimal facility performance
- Working with SCADA systems and PLCs to maintain, optimize, and resolve system issues
- Using OEM manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to diagnose and maintain equipment
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, identifying and reporting any potential hazards, and properly using required protective equipment in hazardous environments
- Monitoring product quality, maintaining accurate quality records, and addressing any process or production issues
- Supporting and mentoring team members, including technicians, electricians, millwrights, and operations staff
- Completing and maintaining work orders, records, checklists, and technical documentation
- Collaborating with the team to improve processes, develop procedures, and support continuous improvement initiatives

This job is for you if you:
- Have a Technologist Certification in Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related field
- Bring a minimum of three (3) years of related experience
- Have previous experience with PLC programming, preferred
- Hold Certifications in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), or industrial networking systems, asset
- Hold a ASET Certification (C.Tech, P.Tech, or P.L.(Eng.)), asset
- Hold a Red Seal or Journeyperson certification in Instrumentation or Electrical, asset
- Don’t mind getting your hands dirty and working in an industrial environment
- Are able to lift up to 25 kg when needed
- Thrive in a team environment and communicate clearly
- Are fluent in English
- Have a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with reliable transportation
- Are able to work on-site where noise, odours, and bio-materials may be present.
