Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Machine Builder with a minimum of 10 years of expertise in manufacturing and assembly. This role involves leading complex machine construction projects, interpreting detailed schematics, and ensuring precision in assembly and mechanical work. Responsibilities
- Assemble and build complex machinery according to detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Read and interpret engineering schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals accurately.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machining tools to fabricate and assemble components.
- Utilize forklift trucks for material handling and positioning of large parts or assemblies safely.
- Perform welding tasks with precision to ensure structural integrity of assembled machines.
- Conduct mechanical troubleshooting during assembly to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain detailed documentation of assembly processes and quality checks throughout production.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to review designs and suggest improvements for manufacturability.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Assist in training junior team members on assembly techniques and safety procedures as needed.
Skills
- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in machine building or manufacturing assembly roles.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical diagrams.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machining tools.
- Skilled in welding techniques including MIG/TIG welding for structural assemblies.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely within a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with calipers, measuring devices, and precision inspection tools such as micrometers.
- Experience with manufacturing processes including assembly line workflows and warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of schematics related to mechanical systems for accurate component integration.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Warehouse experience is a plus for handling large parts or materials efficiently.
