Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Produce Associate to join our retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the freshness and presentation of produce, assisting customers, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or merchandising are a plus, as they enhance customer interactions and store presentation. Responsibilities
- Stock, organize, and display fresh produce to ensure attractive presentation and easy access for customers
- Assist customers with inquiries regarding produce selection, quality, and pricing
- Upsell complementary products and promote special offers to enhance customer experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce section according to health and safety standards
- Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about produce features and benefits
- Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock and communicating replenishment needs to management
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions promptly and courteously
- Support merchandising efforts through proper product placement and signage updates
- Utilize organizational skills to manage time effectively during busy periods
Skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities (English required) to serve diverse customer bases
- Experience in retail sales or merchandising preferred
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor and phone etiquette skills
- Sales skills including upselling techniques to maximize store revenue opportunities
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during shifts
- Organizational skills for maintaining a clean, well-stocked produce section
- Knowledge of product demos or technical sales is a plus but not required
