Overview
We are seeking a reliable, dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our team in a fast-paced culinary environment. The Kitchen Helper plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and maintaining a smooth workflow. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the hospitality industry and eager to learn more about food service in a commercial catering kitchen. The shifts would be Monday-Friday 10-4pm to start. Part time Training can begin immediately and progress to Monday to Friday early September.
Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks in food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and keeping track of food items.
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support the kitchen team during peak hours by helping with various tasks as needed to ensure timely service.
- Making deliveries with company vehicle
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness in the kitchen environment.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented atmosphere while following instructions from chefs and cooks.
- Previous experience in hospitality or food service is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards helping others in a busy kitchen setting.
