Laundry Attendant
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Edmonton SW – Windermere is currently seeking a reliable and motivated Laundry Attendant to join our Housekeeping team.
As a Laundry Attendant, you will play an important role in maintaining the hotel's high standards of cleanliness and presentation by ensuring all linens, towels, and guest laundry are cleaned, processed, and organized efficiently. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry.
- Operate commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect linens and towels for stains or damage, and treat stains using appropriate cleaning products and procedures.
- Perform minor sewing or mending repairs when required.
- Maintain accurate organization and storage of all clean laundry items.
- Monitor laundry supplies and notify management when inventory requires replenishment.
- Keep the laundry room and work areas clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of laundry equipment, and report any equipment issues promptly.
- Assist the Housekeeping team with linen distribution and other related duties as needed.
- Respond courteously and professionally to guest and team member requests.
- Follow all hotel policies, safety procedures, and brand standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in a hotel laundry, housekeeping, or commercial laundry environment is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of commercial laundry equipment, cleaning chemicals, and fabric care is an asset.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs (9 kg) without assistance.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing excellent service.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.
