Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our fleet and industrial equipment operating smoothly, supporting our commitment to efficiency and reliability across various operations. Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy diesel engines and equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot complex issues effectively
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques to complete repairs accurately and safely
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and repairs performed for compliance and reporting purposes
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, brake adjustments, and fluid checks on various industrial equipment
- Operate heavy machinery safely during repair procedures or testing phases to verify functionality after repairs are completed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed during all maintenance activities while providing excellent customer service to internal clients
Skills
- Proven dealership or heavy equipment maintenance experience with a strong mechanical background
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatic components
- Familiarity with operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery
- Skilled in welding, fabrication, and the use of hand tools and power tools for repair tasks
- Ability to read schematics accurately and troubleshoot electrical or mechanical issues efficiently
- Experience working with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery brands is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients
