Position Overview
We are seeking a warm, reliable Program Facilitator to support morning drop-in programs for families with young children. This is a highly active, hands-on role focused on engaging children and caregivers, supporting play-based learning, and maintaining a clean, welcoming program space. Work takes place at both our Cole Harbour and Eastern Passage locations.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome and engage families during morning drop-in programs
Facilitate or support play-based early learning activities, primarily for children ages 0 to 5
Participate in play and support caregiver child interaction
Set up, reset, and clean program spaces including toys, materials, and rooms
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
Support families with warmth, respect, and inclusion
Communicate family support needs to the Executive Director when appropriate
Qualifications
Experience working with children, youth, or families
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong oral and written English communication skills
Comfortable in active, play-based environments
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Assets
Early childhood experience, family support, or youth programming experience
Strong experience with preschool aged children ages 0 to 5
Experience working with diverse or vulnerable communities
Requirements
Vulnerable sector criminal record check is required prior to employment
Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
Valid driver’s license and daily access to a reliable vehicle
Working Conditions
This role is physically active and hands-on. It includes floor play, frequent movement with young children, light lifting, standing for long periods, and regular cleaning and resetting of program spaces in a busy family environment. The role requires the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Probationary Period
Employment includes a three month probationary period.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Morning based programming
Pay
20.00 to 22.00 per hour
