Position: Senior Lifeguard

What You'll Do
As a Senior Lifeguard, you will be responsible for helping to maintain the overall operations of the aquatic facility. You will have the opportunity to educate the public about water safety and work as part of a team to ensure the safety of all facility users. You will be prepared to respond to emergency situations, and implement lifesaving and first aid procedures. The Senior Lifeguard delegates tasks and provides supervision to the aquatic team in order to deliver quality swimming lessons, fitness classes, and other programs and services.

Senior Lifeguard Hiring Process:
1. National Lifeguard Skills Assessment
2. Stroke Assessment
3. Instructor Co-Teach Experience / Swim Instructor (if required)
4. Interview

REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION
· Minimum 18 years of age
· Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Certificate – Pool
· Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate
· Current Standard First Aid Certificate
· Current CPR C / AED Certificate (within one year)
· Pool Operator Level 1 and 2
· FIT Test Respirator
· National Lifeguard Instructor – an asset
· Water Safety Instructor Trainer – an asset
· Standard First Aid / CPR / AED Instructor – an asset
· Minimum one (1) year of related aquatic experience and two (2) years of leadership experience
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Will be required to work with chlorine, hydrochloric acid, and other chemicals related to pool operations
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs
· May be required to come in for an operational emergency
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $31.16 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
