Job description:
The LPN, under limited supervision, will assist in providing effective and efficient service delivery to residents in Assisted Living. Responsibilities include: monitoring the well-being of the residents, assessing resident’s needs, performing medical treatments as required within established guidelines and scope of practice. Ensuring effective communication between all parties involved in resident care.
This is a part-time position working 0800-1600 every Friday and every other weekend with the possibility of picking up other shifts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail required
- Must demonstrate effective communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions when clarification is needed
- Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
- High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion
- Must be able to be depended upon to plan and organize work effectively and ensure its completion
- Must be able to demonstrate reliability by arriving to work on time and taking breaks in expected time frames
- Able to meet all productivity requirements
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
- Competent to perform basic nursing functions
- Critical thinking capability
- Experience in nursing practice related to working with the elderly
- Able to communicate effectively in a courteous manner
- Reliable and dependable
- Able to follow and adhere to Chinook Village policies, procedures, goals and objectives

FORMAL EDUCATION
- Graduate of a recognized LPN training program
- Current registration with the CLPNA Association
