Bookkeeper / Accounting Administrator
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper / Accounting Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, payroll, reconciliations, reporting, and administrative financial duties while supporting overall business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Duties
- Manage accounts payable, e-transfers, EFT payments, and General Ledger (G/L) entries
- Process inventory A/P postings and maintain accurate inventory costing
- Manage and post operating costs
- Produce and post business credit card expense reports to the G/L
- Reconcile bank accounts with daily sales transactions
- Prepare year-end reports for accountants
- Reconcile G/L accounts and assist in producing financial statements for accountant review
- Prepare and file HST returns
- Issue cheque, wire payments to vendors
- Prepare WSIB quarterly returns
- Produce various financial and operational reports requested by ownership
Payroll & Human Resources
- Process payroll through Rise People
- Reconcile payroll and prepare information for T4 processing
- Produce Records of Employment (ROE)
- Manage employee healthcare benefits
- Support general Human Resources administration
Sales & Reporting
- Commission reports
- Maintain accurate financial and reporting records
Qualifications
- Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and General Ledger processes
- Experience with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations
- Knowledge of HST filings and WSIB reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inventory costing and reconciliation
- Familiarity with Rise People payroll platform
- Experience preparing financial statements for external accountants
