Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Server to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional guest service, ensuring a memorable dining experience for all patrons. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages as well as making them, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, along with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and food safety standards. The Server will play a vital role in creating a positive atmosphere that encourages repeat business and guest loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems, including Micros POS if available
- Serve food and drinks promptly while ensuring presentation quality
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of tables, dining areas, and service stations in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist in dishes or kitchen support as needed during busy periods
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations about menu items and specials
- Manage time effectively to serve multiple tables efficiently during shifts
- Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing any concerns promptly and professionally
Skills
- Experience with POS systems
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on hospitality and guest relations
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols in the food industry
- Ability to perform basic math for billing, change calculation, and order accuracy
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently
- Previous restaurant or food service experience is highly desirable
- Familiarity with food preparation processes and kitchen operations is a plus
- Effective communication skills for interacting with guests and team members
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience
- Basic cashiering skills including cash handling and processing transactions
