Helix I.T. Inc. is seeking experienced Fiber and Copper Splicing Technicians to join our team based out of Western Canada, preference is based out of a major center but open for discussion for any qualified candidates.
Qualifications:
Who we are looking for…
- Fiber and/or Copper splicing experience
- Telus/Rogers/Shaw experience an asset
- Operate various hand and power tools
- Experience with Fujikura, Sumitomo Fusion splicers (single and ribbon)
- Copper splicing experience – MS2, lead and metal enclosures (Various other legacy copper enclosures)
- Experience with Light source, power meter and OTDR testing procedures
- Experience and understanding color codes, pair counts, drawings and able to read prints
- Both aerial and underground experience
- Practice and adhere to all company and industry safety policies
- Good attitude
- Clean and respectful appearance.
- Detail orientated and take pride in their work.
- Physically able to work in various conditions, including residences, commercial spaces and in adverse weather conditions.
- Physical ability to work from a kneeling or standing position for long periods.
- Physical ability to climb ladders with proper equipment up to 20 feet (safety belt, safety strap, hard hat, and other equipment as needed).
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Available to work overtime when deemed necessary, including holidays and weekends.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work other duties as assigned.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Travel will be required
Physical Requirements:
- Overhead lifting, climbing & carrying ladders.
- Working 3- feet above ground level.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Full Time
Salary – based on experience and expertise. Will consider independent contractors equipped with splice vehicle
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
