Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare dough for bread according to recipes or special customer orders.
- Bake mixed doughs according to production schedules and quality standards, effectively managing time to ensure production targets are met on schedule.
- Knead, divide, shape, and portion dough to meet production requirements.
- Set up, operate and adjust machines (e.g., mixers, dough dividers, moulders, proofers, and ovens).
- Monitor fermentation, proofing, oven temperatures and speeds, and baking processes to ensure they are according to the standard and make adjustments as necessary.
- Gather ingredients from the warehouse in the necessary quantities according to the production schedule.
- Scale ingredients according to the recipes and maintain records regarding lot numbers.
- Record production information such as quantity, weight, size, date, and type of products made.
- Check products for size, texture, appearance, quality, and defects to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Maintain product quality standards and ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, GMP, and workplace safety requirements.
- Clean equipment, utensils, and work areas at the end of shifts.
Skills and Experience:
- Completion of secondary school.
- Three years of commercial baking experience is considered an asset.
- Able to speak, read and understand English.
- Good math skills.
- Flexible schedule and able to work weekends.
- Able to work in a dusty environment.
- Able to perform lifting of 20 kg.
- Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
