BB Camp is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Health Care Team Member to join our health care team in promoting the health and wellbeing of campers and staff throughout the summer. This is an excellent opportunity for a nursing student, recent graduate, or individual with relevant medical training who enjoys working with children in a dynamic outdoor setting. The health care team lives onsite and plays a vital role in managing the day-to-day health needs of the camp community.
Responsibilities
- Organize and manage camper intake and medical forms
- Assists health care team in the organization and administration of medications for campers & staff
- Provide First Aid and basic medical care as needed
- Maintain accurate logs of treatments, medications, and care provided
- Complete incident and injury reports
- Accompany campers to external medical appointments when required
- Participate in camp activities when available
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum qualification: Standard First Aid with CPR C
- Preferred: AWFA, EMR, EMT, LPN, RN, or current nursing student
- Experience working with children or youth is an asset
- Ability to work independently in a camp environment
