Position Overview
We are currently seeking Journeyman, 3rd and 4th year Plumbing Apprentices to join our process mechanical team. This role involves supporting the installation and maintenance of piping systems, mechanical equipment, and related infrastructure on water and wastewater construction projects. The position requires out-of-town work on a rotational schedule.
This is an excellent opportunity for apprentices looking to gain hands-on experience in large-scale municipal projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Install or assist journeypersons with the installation of process piping systems (PVC, stainless steel, carbon steel, etc.)
- Install or assist journeypersons with the installation of plumbing systems (gas piping, copper piping, plumbing fixture installation)
- Perform in the installation of valves, pumps, tanks, and mechanical equipment
- Perform pipe fitting, layout, cutting, threading, grooving, and assembly
- Support pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning activities
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work plans
- Follow safe work practices, company policies, and site-specific safety requirements
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area
- Travel and work at remote job sites for the duration of the scheduled rotation
Qualifications & Requirements
- Journeyman or Registered 3rd or 4th year Plumbing Apprentice
- Interest or experience in process mechanical, industrial, or water/wastewater work considered an asset
- Ability to work out of town on a 5&2 or 10&4 rotation
- Valid driver’s license
- Physically capable of performing construction work in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Safety tickets CSTS (required), First Aid, Confined Space, etc. are an asset
