Family Service Nova Scotia (FSNS) is seeking a Therapeutic Supports Social Worker to provide clinical, client-centred services that promote mental health, strengthen relationships, and enhance overall wellbeing for individuals, couples, and families. Working in partnership with service users, community organizations, and internal teams, this position delivers evidence-informed therapeutic interventions, assesses client needs, develops individualized service plans, and connects participants with appropriate supports. The successful candidate brings strong clinical skills, sound professional judgment, and a collaborative approach, balancing direct service delivery with reflective practice, documentation, consultation, and ongoing coordination to ensure responsive, high-quality care.
Program Overview
The Therapeutic Supports program provides Tier 3 clinical intervention services for individuals, couples, and families aged six and older. Through a person-centred, trauma-informed approach, the program delivers counselling, therapeutic interventions, and specialized supports that promote resilience, improve wellbeing, and strengthen healthy relationships.
Therapeutic Supports works across a broad range of programs and partnerships, including the Helpline, Ongoing Helpline, ATTACH, Employment Support and Income Assistance, Employee Assistance Program, Strengthening Fathers, Victim Services, Let's Care Collective, and other community-based initiatives. Services are delivered in collaboration with internal teams and community partners to ensure coordinated, accessible care for those who need it most.

This full-time (35 hours) position works in person at Wagmatcook Health Centre.
What You'll Do
1. Clinical Service Delivery
- Manage and maintain an active clinical caseload.
- Provide therapeutic counselling and evidence-informed interventions to individuals, couples, and families.
- Complete assessments and develop individualized service plans.
- Prepare for, facilitate, and debrief clinical sessions.
- Maintain ongoing communication with service users and community partners.
- Coordinate referrals and connect clients with appropriate internal and external resources.
- Adapt interventions based on client progress, goals, and changing needs.
2. Reflective Practice and Clinical Consultation
- Participate in individual, group, and clinical supervision.
- Engage in regular reflective consultation with supervisors and colleagues.
- Contribute to case consultation and collaborative problem-solving.
- Apply reflective practice to support continuous learning and quality clinical care.
3. Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
- Manage scheduling, appointments, and availability.
- Utilize organizational systems for case management, documentation, and reporting.
- Monitor communications, workflows, and follow-up activities to support effective service delivery.
4. Organizational Support
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
- Support colleagues and assist with program coverage as required.
- Participate in internal professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Help foster an inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
5. Operational Responsibilities
- Monitor and request program materials and resources.
- Submit timesheets and expense claims as required.
- Manage scheduling related to vacation and leave.
- Support organizational priorities and operational needs as assigned.

What You Must Have
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or a related field OR
- Bachelor of Social Work with a minimum of five years of relevant clinical experience.
- Eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body.
