We are hiring a Project Technician to deliver IT projects for small and mid-sized businesses.
This role focuses on executing technical projects on time, within budget, and to defined quality standards. You will work closely with service desk, systems administrators, and project management to ensure smooth implementations, accurate changes, and excellent client outcomes.
This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys structured project work, accountability, and measurable performance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
IT Project Delivery
- Execute IT projects including onboarding, offboarding, migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure changes.
- Deliver work according to defined scopes, schedules, and milestones to maintain high on-time project delivery.
- Coordinate tasks across teams to avoid delays or service disruption.
Budget & Time Management
- Track time accurately using PSA/ticketing systems to support budget compliance and billable utilization targets.
- Work within approved labor and cost budgets and escalate scope changes when required.
- Maintain efficient workflows to reduce rework and improve delivery speed.
Change Management & Accuracy
- Implement system changes following change management best practices.
- Validate work post-change to ensure high change success rates and minimal incidents.
- Support after-hours maintenance windows, upgrades, and migrations as scheduled.
Service & SLA Alignment
- Complete project-related tickets in a manner that supports overall SLA compliance.
- Ensure project work does not negatively impact service desk performance or client operations.
- Assist with post-project stabilization and handover.
Client Communication & CSAT
- Provide clear, professional updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Explain timelines, changes, and outcomes in non-technical language.
- Contribute to consistently high customer satisfaction (CSAT) scores.
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Perform fast, accurate onboarding and offboarding of users, devices, licenses, and infrastructure.
- Follow standardized checklists to ensure security, access control, and documentation accuracy.
- Support high-velocity onboarding/offboarding during growth or transition periods.
Documentation & SOPs
- Create and maintain technical documentation, as-built notes, and project records.
- Contribute to SOP creation and updates for repeatable project tasks and improvements.
- Ensure documentation is clear, current, and usable by other technicians.
Required Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or project-based technical roles.
- Previous experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience delivering IT projects such as Microsoft 365 migrations, endpoint deployments, or infrastructure upgrades.
- Experience working with SLAs, project timelines, and performance KPIs.
- Comfort supporting after-hours or scheduled maintenance windows when required.
Skills & Attributes
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows endpoints, and user/device management.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, identity management, and security best practices.
- Experience using PSA, RMM, ticketing, and documentation tools.
Project & Execution Skills
- Strong planning, prioritization, and task management skills.
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and repeatability.
- Ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams concurrently.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
