Position Overview
The Maintenance & Reliability Manager provides strategic and hands-on leadership for the plant’s maintenance department at the Redcliff insulation manufacturing facility, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. This role leads electrical and mechanical teams to optimize equipment uptime and production capacity, while driving reliability, plant performance, and cross-functional collaboration in support of safety, continuous improvement, and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a strong safety culture by reinforcing standards and safe behaviors across the team and ensuring all maintenance activities meet strict environmental and EHS regulations, Provide leadership, mentorship, and development for the maintenance team, strengthening capability and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop, execute, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize line uptime, sustain production throughput, and enhance overall plant performance.
- Drive root-cause analyses and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and reduce recurring failures.
- Apply lean manufacturing and reliability maintenance principles to improve asset performance, reduce downtime, and increase production capacity.
- Partner with production teams to reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support overall plant performance.
- Manage budgets, contractors, and capital projects that support maintenance performance and long-term equipment reliability.
- Administer department resources and priorities to ensure effective execution of maintenance plans, downtime reduction efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize and train team members on SAP and CMMS tools to support preventive maintenance, planning, and reliability improvement initiatives.
Qualifications required:
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, and/or a trades background with leadership experience or equivalent related experience.
- 5 + years of experience with preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment reliability, process improvement, and capital project management
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience supervising maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and proactively address reliability issues.Ability to support a 24/7 environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, project management, or capital projects is considered an asset.
