The Crupi Group of Companies is a family-run business that has serviced Toronto and surrounding areas since 1951 in the road construction, aggregate material and maintenance industries.
We are looking to hire a seasonal full-time Quality Control Lab Field Technician! This is a great opportunity for hands-on experience within the road construction industry.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the QC Lab Technician is responsible for performing testing while maintaining a safe working environment by complying with all safety guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Primary duties include testing & sample collection of asphalt.
- Perform Field Quality Control Testing (material sampling, compaction, coring).
- Ensure that measuring equipment is calibrated.
- Participate in activities related to the quality system, and other duties as assigned.
- Approximately 70% of time is spent in the lab, and 30% in the field (a Company vehicle is provided for travel between sites).
Qualifications:
- Experience in the civil industry or in a laboratory environment is an asset.
- Strong commitment to Health and Safety.
- The ability to lift at least 50lbs on a regular basis is required.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage and prioritize workload.
- Must have excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be available to work flexible shifts.
***A valid Ontario G-class Driver’s License with an acceptable driver’s abstract is required.
Location:
- In-person at our Scarborough location (70 Passmore Avenue, Toronto, ON)
Hours of Operation:
- Shifts are typically 10-12 hours in length, starting at 6:00am, however may fluctuate and may include night-shift operations when needed, depending on business needs.
Seasonality:
- Our season is operational from April to December. During the winter months, snow removal positions are available.
