Position Overview
Canoco Energy Services is seeking an experienced Material Coordinator – Site Operations to support onsite operations in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the movement, tracking, and availability of materials, components, and consumables required to support construction, maintenance, and turnaround activities. We are looking for a highly organized individual who can work effectively with supervision, trades personnel, vendors, and project teams to ensure materials are available when and where they are needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the distribution and tracking of materials, components, and consumables on site
- Work closely with supervision, planners, and trades personnel to ensure material availability
- Verify material deliveries, quantities, and documentation upon receipt
- Monitor material inventories and communicate shortages or discrepancies
- Stage, organize, and issue materials to support daily work activities
- Maintain accurate material tracking records and inventory documentation
- Utilize CMMS systems and project tracking tools to manage material status
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and procurement teams regarding material requirements
- Conduct inventory counts and material audits as required
- Ensure materials are stored, handled, and preserved in accordance with site requirements
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and hazard assessments
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience as a Material Coordinator, Warehouse Coordinator, Inventory Coordinator, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and welding materials, components, and consumables
- Experience working in large plant or industrial environments
- Shutdown, turnaround, or maintenance experience considered a strong asset
- Experience using CMMS systems such as Maximo considered an asset
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver's abstract
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
