Khalsa School Old Yale Road provides quality education to over 900 students in British Columbia’s fastest-growing community. Currently, we have 1 opening for a School Office Secretary for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year starting September 1, 2026. We recognize North American administrative experience. Successful candidates will be managing school operations and supporting learners, parents, and teaching staff.
Position 1: Office Secretary
Start date: September 1,2026
Salary: $3600 per month

Key Responsibilities
- Front Desk & Operations: Greet visitors, answer phone calls, manage emails, and handle general school correspondence.
- Data Management: Input and maintain student attendance, enrollment records, and emergency data using MyEdBC.
- Financial Bookkeeping: Track school fees, process invoices, manage petty cash, and maintain basic financial records.
- Daily Administration: Coordinate mail distribution, photocopying, filing, and office inventory management.
- Student Support: Assist with basic student first aid, distribute medications, and follow campus emergency protocols.
- Community Relations: Foster a positive, inclusive environment aligned with the values and ethos of Khalsa School.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Language: Excellent communication skills in the English language, both oral and written (Required). French is not required.
- Software: Experience or proficiency with MyEdBC software (Highly Preferred).
- Finance: Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping principles and transaction handling (Required).
- Experience: 2–3 years of administrative or secretarial experience, ideally in an educational setting (Preferred).
- Education: High school diploma; certificate or diploma in office administration or bookkeeping is an asset.
- Core Skills: Strong multitasking, time management, and a patient demeanor in a busy school environment.
- Commute: Ability to reliably commute or plan to relocate to Surrey, BC before starting work (Required).
- Work Authorization: Must be legally eligible to work full-time in Canada (Required).
