We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Drapery Workroom Manager to oversee our custom drapery workroom.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on fabrication work with scheduling, organization, and quality control. The role offers excellent work-life balance and a flexible daytime schedule.
Hours
- 24–30 hours per week
- Closed Fridays during the summer months
- Two-week Christmas shutdown
- Additional summer shutdown week
- Daytime hours only
Responsibilities
- Manage workflow within the drapery workroom
- Schedule and prioritize projects
- Coordinate incoming orders and production timelines
- Perform cutting and layout of drapery (approximately 1–2 days per week)
- Review work for accuracy and quality control
- Manage fabric, lining, hardware, and workroom supplies
- Coordinate with project managers
- Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and ensure projects are completed to specification
- Maintain an organized and efficient workroom environment
Qualifications
- Experience in custom drapery, soft furnishings, sewing, upholstery, or a related field an asset
- Strong understanding of drapery construction and fabrication methods an asset
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to read work orders and specifications accurately
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects
