The Guest Services Agent/Night Auditor is a part-timeposition to work under the Front Office department and reporting to the Front Office Manager. A part-time team member must be able to give a minimum 2 days a week. The working hours will vary from weekdays, weekends, and holidays (morning, mid, evenings and overnight shifts, and on-call basis).
RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to):
- Oversee the security and safety of our guests during the overnight shift
- Ensure the smooth operation of all nightly reporting in cooperation with the Night Manager
- Follow specific checklists and credit procedures
- Operation of Switchboard and related functions; Answer all telephone inquiries in an efficient and friendly manner, using guest names when possible
- Check in / check out of guests and assist with guest services as required
- Responds to guest inquiries and concerns
- Up-sell rooms to maximize revenues
- Assist guests with luggage when entering and departing the hotel.
- Ensure a memorable experience for our arriving and departing guests while upholding Hilton Values and Brand Standards
- Maintain a balanced float assigned by the hotel and reconciling all transactions at the close of each shift
- Act as a concierge; assisting guests in all inquiries and accommodating special requests whenever possible
- Accept reservations, changes and cancellations in the absence of Reservations staff.
- Complete shift checklist and pass-on important information
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous front office experience and night audit experience required
- Hospitality diploma or post secondary degree preferred
- Previous experience using Excel spreadsheets
- Previous experience with property management systems and Micros a definite asset
- Able to take initiative and be a self starter
- Able to communicate effectively with guests and team members
- Strong guest service skills are essential
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and able to handle a large volume of phone calls and guest arrivals
- Desire to work in a team based environment
