Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Mobile Service Technician/General Labourer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, removing and installing waste and recycling equipment and systems to ensure optimal operation. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. The Mobile Service Technician will play a vital role in providing reliable service and support to our clients, ensuring their equipment functions efficiently and effectively.
Duties
- Travel to customer sites to service and repair waste and recycling equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues
- Perform routine maintenance and respond to service calls
- Assist with installations and equipment setup
- Complete basic welding repairs and fabrication as needed
- Keep your service vehicle, tools, and workspace organized
- Pitch in around the shop when needed
- Provide friendly, professional service to customers
- Provide clear instructions and explanations to clients regarding system operations and maintenance procedures
- Document service activities, repairs, and parts used in detailed worktickets
- Collaborate with team members to resolve complex technical issues promptly
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
- Assist in training clients on proper equipment use when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience as a Mobile Service Technician or in a similar technical role preferred
- Strong mechanical, electrical, or electronic troubleshooting skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams effectively
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in the field
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel locally within Southern Alberta as needed
- Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with specific industry equipment or advanced diagnostic tools
