Description : The School Psychologist will be a member of the clinical team within Anglophone South School District and will be responsible to:
- Provide a broad range of professional psychological services in the school system in the application of the science of psychology to the areas of student learning and behaviour, assessment and evaluation, understanding of child and adolescent exceptionalities and psychological adjustment.
- Consult with teachers, members of the Education Support Services Team (ESST) and Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) teams and parents in a collaborative process of defining problems and developing appropriate programs and interventions.
- Be involved in individual student psychological assessments, in-service education, participation in the development of preventive and crisis response programs, program evaluation and professional supervision of psychometrists.
Qualifications : A master’s or doctoral degree in psychology with course work and experience to meet the requirements for licensed membership in the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick. Licensed membership [or pending] in the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick. Su ccessful completion of course work in child and adolescent development as well as child and adolescent exceptionalities. Experience in school psychology is desirable. The successful candidate must be capable of working both independently and in a collaborative manner with students, parents, teachers, Integrated Service Delivery, and Education Support Services Teams. Knowledge of school-based decision-making and policies would be an asset.
Salary : In accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees–Professional Support Group Collective Agreement, $3,749.55 - $4,515.11 bi-weekly.
This is an open competition; however, in accordance with the NBUPPE Collective Agreement- Professional Support Group, should unionized employees under this bargaining group apply, employees shall be selected on the basis of skill, ability and qualifications. Where skill, qualifications and ability are relatively equal amongst union applicants, the vacancy will be filled on the basis of seniority.
