Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and licensed Funeral Director to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced yet meaningful environment, enjoys guiding families through the funeral planning process, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service with empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
As a Funeral Director, you will play a key role in ensuring funeral services are carried out seamlessly while supporting families with care and compassion from the initial arrangement conference through to the completion of services.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Meet with families to arrange funeral, cremation, memorial, and celebration of life services.
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services from initial arrangements through final disposition.
- Perform embalming and preparation of the deceased, where required.
- Complete all required documentation, permits, registrations, and authorizations accurately and efficiently.
- Transfer deceased individuals between hospitals, residences, care facilities, and company locations as required.
- Maintain accurate records while ensuring compliance with all applicable provincial legislation and company policies.
- Participate in an evening and weekend on-call rotation.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, compassion, confidentiality, and customer service.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Licensed Funeral Director in Ontario.
- Minimum of three (3) years of Funeral Director experience.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for helping families.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and time-management abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to remain composed and professional in emotionally sensitive situations.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with funeral management software is considered an asset.
