Overview
We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Cashier and Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing exceptional service to customers, managing transactions accurately, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be organized, and have a passion for assisting customers in a fast-paced environment. We are prioritizing Hindi or Gujarati speakers, but all are welcome to apply.
**You must have strong mental math and quick thinking capabilities, and be able to stand for long periods of time. Retail Self Serve Certificate Required **
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process transactions accurately
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with precision and integrity
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure product availability
- Restocking store items before & after busy hours and during closing
- Manage customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Ensure adherence to store policies regarding cash handling and security protocols
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized checkout area and store environment
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
- Perform closing tasks such as sweeping, mopping and cleaning of meat slicer
- Preform opening tasks such as baking, stocking of dairy and meat fridge and receiving orders from vendors
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
- Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures is advantageous
- Experience with product demos or technical sales adds value to the role
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening abilities
- Ability to perform basic math accurately
- Proven ability to upsell products while maintaining excellent customer relationships

Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour
