We’re looking for an organized and adaptable operations professional who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting supervisors and team leads, ensuring smooth daily operations, and helping employees stay engaged and productive. If you enjoy problem-solving, coordinating people and processes, and keeping things running efficiently behind the scenes, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day.
This is a 6 months contract
Here’s where you’ll have an impact:
All duties are in place to support Team Leads in the following,
- Make real-time decisions via the computer system to allocate work and staff in the most effective manner (Rearrange tasks based on work needed. E.g.: Reassign employees to the front desk)
- Take on an active role with employees and encourage their involvement
- Take part in training non-unionized employees
- Take calls from unionized employees regarding absences
- Perform daily inventory of pallets
- Assign the assembly sector to each employee according to seniority
- Check the pace of assembly, schedule staff breaks and ensure that shifts begin and end on time
- Ensure the replenishment of supplies when cases are missing for assembly
- Manage loading and the floor by being present and conducting rounds of the dock
- Ensure that the person in charge of loading knows which pallets to load and prepare delivery slips
What you bring to the table:
- College diploma plus two (2) years’ experience in distribution or personnel management (any other combination of education and experience deemed equivalent will be considered)
- Proficiency with the various computer tools related to operations
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, problem solving and ability to prioritize
- Strongly encourages proper monitoring and has a strong sense of responsibility
- Places a high value on planning and learns quickly
- Manages time and priorities effectively and maintains composure in stressful situations
- Experience in a retail support centre
- Working knowledge of WMS, SAP and Microsoft Office
