Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder specializing in structural steel rolling to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding techniques, blueprint reading, and mechanical assembly, contributing to the fabrication and construction of high-quality steel structures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where precision and safety are paramount, supporting large-scale construction and manufacturing projects.
Duties
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on structural steel components according to detailed schematics and blueprints.
- Operate plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and hand tools to shape and assemble steel parts.
- Conduct rigging operations to safely lift, position, and secure heavy steel materials using cranes and forklifts.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Utilize calipers, power tools, and machining equipment for precise measurements and modifications.
- Assist with the assembly of steel structures, including ductwork and other components related to construction projects.
- Maintain safety standards by inspecting equipment, ensuring proper use of personal protective gear, and adhering to safety protocols throughout all operations.
- Support the setup and operation of machinery involved in manufacturing processes related to structural steel rolling.
Experience
- Proven experience in welding (MIG, TIG) within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Knowledge of rigging, crane operation, machining, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with mechanical knowledge related to structural steel fabrication including plasma cutting, press brake operation, hand tools, power tools, and basic math skills.
- Experience with ductwork installation or construction projects is a plus.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification preferred but not required.
- Prior experience working with schematics and blueprints for complex steel structures is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures in industrial settings with a focus on quality craftsmanship and efficiency.
