Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Concrete Labourer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will assist in various phases of concrete work, including form setting, finishing, and related tasks. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and familiarity with construction tools and techniques. The Concrete Labourer will play a vital part in ensuring the successful completion of residential, commercial, or industrial projects with quality craftsmanship and safety as top priorities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up concrete forms and frameworks according to project specifications and blueprints.
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely during various stages of concrete work.
- Perform rebar installation and ensure reinforcement is correctly placed for structural integrity.
- Execute masonry tasks such as caulking, restoration, and flooring installation as needed.
- Read schematics and blueprints to understand project requirements and ensure proper execution.
- Conduct concrete finishing including smoothing, leveling, and surface texturing.
- Assist with demolition or renovation tasks related to concrete structures when required.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents on-site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction, masonry, or concrete work is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with rebar installation, carpentry, welding, and flooring installation are advantageous.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and power tools safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project execution.
- Physical strength to perform heavy lifting and manual labor over extended periods.
- Experience with concrete forming, finishing techniques, caulking, restoration, and renovation projects is desirable.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites.
- Ability to work well within a team environment while adhering to project deadlines.
- Valid construction experience certification or relevant training is a plus.
