Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety regulations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, with opportunities to work with heavy equipment and perform related duties as needed.
Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local and long-haul freight deliveries.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams.
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep vehicles in optimal condition.
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment related to freight handling and transportation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during operations.
- Ensure proper securing of freight to prevent damage during transit.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Minimum 5 years of Class 1 commercial driving experience.
Must be Clean-Shaven (Required for mandatory safety equipment/respirator fit testing).
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with freight transportation.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation, including forklifts.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to trucking and freight handling.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight, operate heavy equipment, and perform vehicle inspections.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude.
- Prior experience with freight logistics or automotive repair is advantageous but not mandatory.
Pay: $120,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
