Position Summary
The Cultural Outreach Support Worker provides culturally grounded support to Indigenous women accessing Women's Mobile Primary Care services. This role integrates Indigenous cultural knowledge, wellness practices, and relationship-based outreach to support holistic health and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Provide cultural support alongside healthcare providers using a Two-Eyed Seeing approach.
- Support Indigenous women in accessing healthcare, cultural services, and community resources.
- Participate in outreach activities and accompany clients to appointments.
- Provide advocacy, referrals, and case management support.
- Assist with mobile clinic operations and cultural supply management.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Indigenous Studies, Human Services, Community Support, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Indigenous teachings, medicines, and cultural wellness practices.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and vulnerable populations.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice, cultural safety, and harm reduction.
- Strong interpersonal, advocacy, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with outreach and community-based programming is an asset.
