Pay: $26.00 per hour
Schedule: Saturdays only, starting at 8:30 a.m. (8–12 hour shifts)
About the Position
We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and patient Personal Support Worker to provide one-on-one support for a 29-year-old neurodivergent adult in a private residence in Comox, BC.
This is a Saturday-only position, making it ideal for someone looking for consistent part-time work. Other support workers provide care during the week, and we're looking for someone to become a valued part of the support team by covering Saturdays. There may be opportunities for additional shifts throughout the week, if you desire to pick them up.
The employer is the individual's parent, and we're seeking someone who will provide respectful, person-centred support while helping promote independence, safety, and community involvement.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with personal hygiene and other activities of daily living
- Administering prescribed medications
- Providing transportation and support for community outings and recreational activities
- Preparing simple meals and snacks as needed
- Light housekeeping and maintaining a clean, organized environment
- Offering companionship, encouragement, and positive support throughout the day
- Following established routines while adapting to changing needs
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is:
- Kind, patient, and reliable
- Comfortable providing personal care in a respectful and professional manner
- Able to work independently and exercise good judgment
- A strong communicator with a positive attitude
- Comfortable supporting an individual with developmental disabilities or neurodivergence (experience is an asset but not required)
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred
