As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager to join our team and take the lead on exciting, high-impact projects.
Position Overview:
As the Structural Steel Project Manager at Rampart Steel Ltd., you will manage projects from contract award through to completion. You’ll coordinate between internal departments, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and on budget—without compromising quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee structural steel projects from estimating hand-off through detailing, fabrication, delivery, and erection.
- Coordinate closely with drafting, fabrication, and field crews to ensure smooth project flow.
- Manage schedules, budgets, RFIs, change orders, and all project documentation.
- Maintain strong communication with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.
- Conduct site visits and monitor safety, progress, and compliance.
- Resolve challenges proactively to minimize delays and cost impacts.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant building codes, safety standards, and company procedures.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing structural steel projects in a fabrication/erection environment.
- Solid understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes, codes, and standards (CISC, CSA, etc.).
- Strong project management skills and experience using tools such as MS Excel, MS Project, Procore, or Bluebeam.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Able to read and interpret structural drawings, connection details, and specifications.
- Knowledge of Alberta OHS regulations; COR certification or safety training is an asset.
- PMP certification considered an asset but not required.
