Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Agricultural Equipment Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of farm machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and excellent problem-solving skills. Experience with maintenance on electric platform trucks, electric pallet trucks (BT Electric), tractors, pot-filling machines is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse machinery including Electric Platform Trucks, BT Electric Pallet Trucks, Greenhouse Tractors, Pot Filler Machines, Soil Handling Equipment, Plant Transportation system, Conveyor Systems, Battery Charging Systems, Hydraulic, Pneumatic Equipment and other greenhouse farm equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Duties
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electric platform trucks, electric pallet trucks (BT Electric), tractors, pot-filling machines, conveyors, and other mobile and stationary equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical malfunctions using testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Repair or replace defective components, including motors, pumps, bearings, chains, belts, hydraulic cylinders, electrical controls, batteries, and drive systems.
- Service and maintain battery-powered equipment, including charging systems, electrical wiring, controllers, and electric drive units.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently and complies with workplace safety standards.
- Test repaired equipment to verify proper performance and operational reliability.
- Perform lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and scheduled maintenance according to manufacturer specifications.
- Repair and maintain tractor engines, steering systems, braking systems, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and attachments.
- Maintain and repair automated greenhouse production equipment, including pot fillers, soil handling systems, and material transport equipment.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, maintenance records, and equipment specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.
- Identify equipment issues proactively and recommend repairs or replacement of worn components to minimize operational downtime.
- Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate with greenhouse production staff and supervisors to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
- Order, source, and manage spare parts and maintenance supplies required for equipment repairs.
- General maintenance of greenhouse structure service
Requirements
- Completion of apprenticeship program in equipment repair
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in equipment maintenance.
- Able to comunicate in Spanish and English is required.
- G Driver's License
