Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Technician to support daily operations at Intercity Shopping Centre, The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, safety, and overall condition of the mall’s building systems, common areas, and equipment.
This role plays a key part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for tenants, retailers, and visitors. It is ideal for someone with strong technical abilities, experience in commercial facilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on mall building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, etc.)
- Respond promptly to retailer and tenant service requests, ensuring issues are addressed efficiently and professionally
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and adjust building automation systems to maintain comfort levels and energy efficiency
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of common areas, service corridors, loading docks, and exterior spaces
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and service providers for scheduled maintenance, specialty repairs, and mall-wide projects
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance
- Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and fire/life safety regulations in a commercial retail environment
- Support seasonal tasks, including snow removal coordination, landscaping oversight, and exterior property upkeep
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance, facility operations, or a similar role
(shopping mall or retail environment experience is an asset)
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
