Walsh Construction is seeking journeyman carpenters, apprentices and labourers.
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenters/apprentice to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential and/or commercial framing, concrete forming, flatwork, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a crew.
Responsibilities
- Construct, install, and repair structural wood frameworks, including walls, floors, and roofs
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials accurately
- Install floor systems, wall panels, and roof trusses
- Ensure structures are level, square, and compliant with building codes
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and framing equipment safely
- Maintain a clean and organized job site
- Collaborate with supervisors and other trades on-site
Requirements
- Carpentry or concrete experience (1+ years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
- Own hand tools and PPE
- Strong attention to detail and safety practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Carpentry certification or apprenticeship training
- Experience in residential/commercial construction
- Fall protection or safety certifications
