About the Role
We are hiring Caregiver to support seniors in their homes. This role focuses on compassionate, respectful, non-medical care that helps clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent. Assignments vary based on client needs and availability. This role delivers supportive, non-medical care in home and community settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and meaningful conversation
- Assist with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
- Support safe ambulation and transfers as required
- Prepare meals and assist with light household tasks
- Provide medication and appointment reminders according to care plans
- Accompany clients on walks or appointments when required
- Observe and report changes in client condition
- Communicate with supervisors and office staff
- Accurately record hours worked and care provided
Qualifications
- PSW certificate, caregiver training, or relevant experience
- Experience supporting seniors or individuals with cognitive or chronic conditions is an asset
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to hire
- Strong communication skills and compassionate approach
- Ability to work flexible schedules based on client needs
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and move safely
- Comfort working in various home environments
- Respect for client dignity and privacy
Transportation
- Ability to travel to client locations using personal transportation or public transit
- Some assignments may include accompanying clients for errands or appointments
