Overview
Renorama is a busy flooring and renovation supply store at Highway 400 & Steeles. We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Cashier/Sales Associate to join our team. This role involves running checkout, helping customers find the right flooring, trim, and installation supplies, and keeping the showroom sharp. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, is comfortable handling transactions accurately, and enjoys helping homeowners and contractors with their projects. Previous experience at a home-improvement retailer (Home Depot, Rona, Lowe's, Home Hardware) or in flooring/renovation is a strong asset. This is a hands-on role with room to grow into sales and quoting.
Responsibilities
Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service from walk-in to checkout
Operate the POS system for cash, debit/credit, deposits, and returns accurately
Help customers with product questions — flooring types, trim and mouldings, underlay, and installation accessories
Point out current promotions and suggest add-ons customers actually need (underlay, transitions, adhesives)
Keep displays, sample boards, and shelves stocked, organized, and clean
Answer phone inquiries about stock, pricing, and orders professionally
Keep checkout moving smoothly during busy periods, especially weekends
Assist with receiving stock, inventory counts, and replenishment as needed
Support contractors picking up large orders and coordinate with the back for loading
Skills
Strong communication skills
Experience in retail cashiering or customer service; home-improvement or building-supply retail (Home Depot, Rona, Lowe's) strongly preferred
Comfortable with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math (measurements, square footage a plus)
Interest in or knowledge of flooring and renovation products — or willingness to learn fast
Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
Able to manage multiple customers and tasks during rush periods
Professional phone manner
Sales-oriented mindset — comfortable suggesting the right add-ons
Team player in a fast-paced retail environment; able to lift up to 50 lb occasionally
Job Type: Part-time / Full-time
Pay: $18.00–$19.50 per hour
Schedule: Day shifts, weekend availability required
