Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Labourer to join our team. This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for extended periods, repetitive lifting, and attention to detail while supporting various manufacturing and production operations.
The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment. Must be fluent in speaking and reading English.
Responsibilities
- Assist with machine shop production and material handling activities
- Load, unload, sort, and move materials throughout the facility
- Perform repetitive lifting of parts and materials up to 50 lbs
- Conduct visual inspections of finished products for quality and accuracy
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and shop policies
- Support machine operators and other production personnel as required
- Complete production tasks accurately and efficiently
Requirements
- CSA-approved safety boots are required
- Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift
- Ability to perform repetitive motions and repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
- Willing to work overtime on an as needed basis
Preferred Qualifications
The following skills would be considered an asset:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience using precision measuring instruments, such as:
- Vernier calipers
- Micrometers
- Height gauges
- Other high-accuracy measurement tools
- Previous machine shop or manufacturing experience
