Position: Maintenance Planner – Buyer
Location: Mississauga
Shift: 8-Hour Day Shift (Flexible Start Time)
Pay Rate: $37.75/hour CAD
The Maintenance Planner – Buyer is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities while ensuring the timely procurement of maintenance equipment, tools, and materials. This role plays a critical part in maximizing equipment reliability, supporting preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and without delays.

Plan and schedule all maintenance work with safety as the top priority

Purchase maintenance equipment, parts, tools, and materials

Ensure maintenance work is properly planned, organized, and scheduled in a timely manner

Communicate planned maintenance activities to all affected departments and stakeholders

Coordinate and verify that all required parts, tools, materials, and resources are available before work begins

Collaborate with maintenance leaders and technicians to establish priorities and schedules

Identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, and maintenance processes

Assist with developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives

Plan and coordinate maintenance downtime activities

Utilize and maintain CMMS systems at an advanced level

Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs throughout the facility

Coordinate daily maintenance activities across multiple departments

Ensure maintenance work is executed efficiently with minimal downtime

Partner with maintenance teams to improve PM effectiveness and reduce equipment breakdowns

Support long-term reliability and asset management strategies

You have experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment

You have strong purchasing, inventory, and maintenance coordination experience
-
You have advanced CMMS experience and understand maintenance planning best practices

You possess strong organizational and project management skills

You can effectively coordinate multiple priorities and stakeholders

You have excellent communication and collaboration skills

You are passionate about continuous improvement and equipment reliability

You can identify process improvements and implement solutions

You enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where teamwork and problem-solving are valued

Experience in maintenance planning, maintenance supervision, or reliability programs

Experience purchasing maintenance-related equipment and spare parts

Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems

Manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience

Strong computer and data management skills

Experience working with maintenance metrics and performance reporting
