Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including cooks, sous chefs, and food service personnel
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality
- Develop menu concepts in collaboration with management and incorporate current culinary trends
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation in compliance with health regulations
- Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs effectively
- Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills in food handling, cooking techniques, and customer service
- Ensure efficient kitchen operations during service hours while maintaining a positive work environment
- Collaborate with restaurant management to plan staffing schedules and optimize workflow
- Uphold hospitality standards by ensuring excellent serving experiences for guests
- Monitor customer feedback to continuously improve menu offerings and service quality
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting with a focus on culinary leadership
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
- In-depth knowledge of restaurant management principles, including food safety regulations and kitchen safety protocols
- Hands-on experience with food handling, menu development, and kitchen equipment maintenance
- Restaurant experience within the food industry is essential; hospitality background is a plus
- Leadership qualities with excellent communication skills and a passion for culinary excellence
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
