The Role
We are looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter with a heavy focus on structural framing to lead projects on-site, manage crews/trades, and ensure jobs are executed cleanly, safely, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead site operations from foundation to lock-up (layout, framing, timber assembly, shear walls, and roof systems).
- Read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings accurately.
- Manage day-to-day work for 2–4 crew members and coordinate on-site specialized trades.
- Maintain clean job sites, rigorous safety standards, and strict quality control.
- Manage material deliveries, tool inventory, and site mobilization/logistics.
Mandatory Requirements
- Framing Experience: Strong, proven background in structural framing (minimum 5+ years preferred; mass timber/timber framing experience is a strong asset).
- Driver’s License: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract and reliable transportation to job sites (including potential travel/barge trips for island builds).
- Language: Fluent in spoken and written English for team leadership, safety protocol enforcement, and trade coordination.
- Tools: Own personal hand tools, basic cordless power tools, and proper PPE.
- Leadership: Strong communication skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to keep a site moving efficiently without sacrificing quality.
