Overview
The Packaging Designer is responsible for designing and developing innovative packaging solutions that ensure product protection, regulatory compliance, and strong brand presentation. This role leverages modern design technologies, including AI tools, and collaborates cross-functionally to deliver functional, visually appealing, and cost-effective packaging.
Duties
- Design packaging structures and graphics using SolidWorks, Rhino, CorelDRAW, and AI-powered design tools
- Develop 2D/3D packaging concepts, prototypes, and technical drawings
- Utilize AI tools for concept generation, design optimization, and workflow efficiency
- Ensure labeling and artwork comply with food safety and regulatory requirements
- Support branding, layout, and visual consistency across packaging formats
- Collaborate with suppliers to select materials and optimize design for production
- Conduct packaging trials and validate structural performance and functionality
- Identify cost-saving and material optimization opportunities
- Troubleshoot packaging issues related to design, durability, and manufacturability
- Work closely with QA, production, procurement, and marketing teams to ensure alignment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and new product launches
- Other duties assigned by management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Design, Industrial Design, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in packaging or structural design (CPG or food industry preferred)
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Rhino, CorelDRAW, and familiarity with AI design tools
- Experience using AI tools for design ideation, rendering, or workflow automation is an asset
- Strong understanding of packaging materials, structures, and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of labeling regulations and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP)
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and design validation
- Strong creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate cross-functionally
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
