Finance Manager

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Finance Manager to lead our day-to-day accounting and financial operations. This role will help ensure our books are accurate, our cash flow is well managed, our projects are properly costed, and our leadership team has reliable information for decision-making.
What Success Looks Like
- Month-end and year-end close are completed accurately and on time.
- Job costing is current, accurate, and useful for operational decisions.
- Cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable are actively managed.
- Payroll, tax filings, reconciliations, and reporting are completed reliably.
- Financial issues are identified early and communicated clearly.
- Owners and managers can trust the numbers when making decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, deposits, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Manage cash flow, billing, collections, and payment schedules.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and support budgeting and forecasting.
- Monitor job costing across landscape construction, maintenance, irrigation, and snow work.
- Review labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for accuracy.
- Identify waste, overspending, miscoding, and unusual variances.
- Support payroll processing, timesheet validation, and required filings.
- Complete tax reconciliations and payments.
- Maintain organized financial records, receipts, invoices, and approvals.
- Coordinate with crew leads, project managers, and office staff to resolve financial and billing issues.
- Support year-end preparation and respond to accountant or audit requests.
- Improve financial processes, controls, and reporting systems over time.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of full-cycle accounting or finance experience.
- Experience with job costing, preferably in landscaping, construction, trades, or another service business.
- Strong understanding of reconciliations, payroll, AP, AR, cash flow, and month-end close.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel or Google Sheets.
- Experience with LMN or similar operations software is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Clear, respectful communication with both office and field teams.
- Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize competing needs, and solve problems independently.
- A growth mindset and willingness to improve processes.
- High standards for honesty, accuracy, accountability, and confidentiality.

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
