Event Set-Up Crew Member — Summer Student, Part-Time

Ontario Inflatables and Event Rentals is one of Ontario’s leading event attraction and entertainment rental companies. We provide inflatables, giant slides and obstacle courses, interactive and carnival games, water attractions, mechanical rides, mobile attractions and other event equipment for private celebrations, school fun fairs, corporate events, festivals and community events across Ontario.
Position Overview
We are looking for a responsible, hardworking and positive student to join our team as a part-time Event Set-Up Crew Member for the summer.
This is a hands-on position involving the complete rental process—from preparing and loading orders to professionally installing equipment ranging from backyard inflatables to large-scale event attractions, followed by safe dismantling, return, cleaning and storage at our warehouse.
This is a non-driving position. Team Members travel to event locations as part of a company crew.
This is a part-time, summer position, and the ideal candidate will be returning to school in the fall. Opportunities for ongoing part-time work during the school year may be available for interested Team Members based on performance, availability and business needs.
Schedule
- Part-time summer employment with hours based on event schedules and business demand.
- Shifts may include weekdays, early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Weekly hours and shift times may vary.
- Reliable availability throughout the summer is required.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize rental equipment for scheduled events.
- Load and unload event equipment from company vehicles and trailers.
- Safely set up and dismantle inflatables, games and large-scale event attractions.
- Clean, inspect and organize equipment according to company standards.
- Monitor equipment use and follow established safety procedures when assigned to remain onsite.
- Assist with warehouse organization and equipment storage.
- Work efficiently and cooperatively with other Team Members at event sites and in the warehouse.
- Follow instructions from crew leaders and management.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers and event contacts.
What You’ll Bring
- Fluent spoken English is a mandatory requirement. Team Members must be able to understand instructions and communicate clearly with coworkers, customers and event-site contacts.
- The physical ability to repeatedly lift, carry and move equipment weighing 50 lbs or more.
- Comfort performing physically demanding work that involves lifting, bending, standing and working on your feet for extended periods.
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Availability for a flexible event-based schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Strong reliability, punctuality and attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- The ability to work efficiently as part of a team and follow direction.
- Previous experience in event setup, general labour, moving, landscaping, construction, athletics or other physically active work is an asset but not required.
