Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Outreach Day Support staff to assist individuals with disabilities during daytime activities. This role involves providing personalized support to promote independence, engagement, and well-being in a community-based setting. The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in special education, caregiving, and working with diverse populations. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals while developing valuable skills in communication and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with disabilities during daily activities, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Support participation in community outings, recreational activities, and skill-building exercises
- Administer medications as directed, following proper procedures and documentation protocols
- Use effective communication skills to engage with individuals, staff, and families
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living tasks as needed
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized support plans
- Maintain accurate records of activities, progress notes, and medication administration
- Promote a positive, inclusive environment that encourages independence and social interaction
Requirements
- Experience or training in special education or caregiving preferred
- Prior work with individuals with special needs is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with diverse populations
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to supporting others’ needs and rights
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
- Flexibility to work daytime hours; availability during scheduled shifts is essential
